Known Residency

Free Moral Agents

For the hoards of Detroit Bar’s devout show-goers, Monday nights have always been a bit special. Besides getting in for free, you also get the chance to check out a relatively unknown resident band—possibly discovering a new favorite musical group. But this week is gonna be a little different. For the month of February, Costa Mesa’s most dependable live music venue brings you the proggy, jazz-slathered gusto of the Free Moral Agents. Assembled by Mars Volta keyboardist Ikey Owens, this Long Beach clan has made quite a name for themselves all over Southern California and beyond, so you can bet they won’t have any trouble drawing a massive head-count. This week, they’ll be supported by the psychedelic musings of War Paint and Mode.
Mondays, 9 p.m.; Mondays, 9 p.m. Starts: Feb. 2. Continues through Feb. 24, 2009
