Criminally Funny

Craig Robinson

By ALBERT CHING

It’s a cliche for sure, but with Craig Robinson, it really fits: even if you don’t know his name, you’ve probably seen his face. He’s probably best known as warehouse manager Darryl on The Office, and he’s stayed funny even when the show hasn’t. He’s in pretty much every comedy film these days—as the door man in Knocked Up, a hitman in Pineapple Express, and Seth Rogen’s co-worker in Zack and Miri Make a Porno. He sang in the criminally underseen Walk Hard, and, well, was also arrested for ecstasy and methamphetamine possession last summer. Is there anything Craig Robinson can’t do? Somehow, though, he manages to also squeeze some stand-up gigs in, like this weekend at the Irvine Improv.
