Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago

By ERIN DEWITT

Published on February 05, 2009 at 2:45am

Gus Giordano may have departed from this world less than a year ago, but his profoundly influential brand of jazz dance will continue to shimmy across stages for years to come. Often considered one of the founding fathers of jazz dance, his talent for choreography and instruction won him awards in television, film and on stage—both on and off Broadway. The Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago company, now run by his daughter, allow only the finest dancers to perform under their name. To even be considered, aspiring dancers must first study extensively and successfully complete an apprenticeship. Come see how these dedicated students honor their teacher in this one-night-only event.
