Even if you didn’t pick up on golden-voiced Frankie Valli and his crew until their story was turned into the Tony-grabbing musical Jersey Boys, their music surely wafted in the background of your life at one time or another. On his own, Valli sang the immortal theme to Grease and crooned the big-band-twisted torch song “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.” With the Four Seasons, he squeakily led the way through “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Walk Like a Man” and a slew of like-minded bubblegum hits throughout the ’60s. Though he has arguably been coasting on nostalgia ever since­—when he wasn’t guest-starring on The Sopranos—it’s hard to find fault in his well-preserved charm and reliable pipes.
