A lot of folks don’t feel so great on New Year’s Day, either from being a smidge too festive the night before, or anxiety over another year beginning with hopes and dreams yet unfulfilled (or, even more fun, a combination of both). So it’s a canny move to hold the latest installment of the Long Beach Loop on Jan. 1, when people don’t feel up to carting themselves around. The program, started in August, is a cooperative effort between the Pike bar, Alex’s Bar, the Prospector and the double-decker Big Red Bus; for $10, you can hop aboard to check out live music at the three venues. This time around, Free Moral Agents—the musical collective headed by Ikey Owens—headline at Alex’s.
