Ducks vs. Blackhawks

By Sandy Rose

Published on November 26, 2008 at 2:45am

The 2007 Stanley Cup champs will take on the Chicago Blackhawks in this afternoon game at the Honda Center. While the Red Wings stole the cup from their webbed fingers in 2008, the Ducks remain a viable threat to retake the title this year, ranking just under division leader in the Western Conference. Ranking somewhat lower are the Blackhawks, but this kind of underdog position can often inspire the sort of fire and determination that result in exciting games . . . or at least the occasional on-ice kerfuffle. Let’s hope the Chicagoans skate with just enough verve to keep things interesting well into the final minutes of play—as long as the Ducks win, of course.
