A straight, 47-year-old male probably does not fall in the normal demographic for the E! channel’s Chelsea Lately, but when said male’s television remote is hijacked nightly by a 19-year-old daughter who considers the bestselling book Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea her bible, he suddenly finds himself hostage to the program. Then the talk-gossip show host’s smart-ass shtick starts to grow on him. Then he finds himself watching the show when the 19-year-old is away. Then you-know-what replaces Colbert on his TiVo record list.
