The exhibition includes iconic portraits of celebrities such as Dennis Hopper, Lana Turner, O.J. Simpson, and R.C. Gorman. Also on view will be screen prints derived from select Polaroids such as "The Witch" (Margaret Hamilton from the Wizard of Oz); and from Warhol's Suite of Athletes series: Dorothy Hamill, O.J. Simpson, Jack Nicklaus, and others. The Silver Clouds installation was originally created for a 1966 exhibition at the Leo Castelli Gallery in New York-where Warhol conceived of an environment in one room filled with silver Mylar balloons, filled with helium which moved with the air currents. The installation, reproduced at the UAM, seeks to challenge the traditional expectations of viewers as the balloons mingle with, and touch the visitor.
