Rockabilly Day at Disneyland
Published on November 13, 2008 at 2:47am
Theres nothing like a subculture with seriously wicked style taking over the squeaky clean, kiddy-saturated Disneyland for a day. The goths have had Bat Day for years and now were happy to report that this Saturday will be the first annual (completely unofficial and non-Disney endorsed) Rockabilly Day at the mouses kingdom. Starting (of course) with a classic car caravan at 9 a.m., other festivities include a Rock Around the Park group photo in front of Sleeping Beautys castle, a performance by Billy Hill and the Hillbillies and swing dancing to the live music of Stompy Jones. Note to all the 50s pin-up girls: wearing those cute ankle-strap stilettos is probably not the best idea. Youll be doing a lot of walking and standing in line.
