Robert Schimmel

By NATE JACKSON

Published on September 27, 2008 at 2:44am

It takes a special kind of comic to laugh through his pain. It takes an even greater comic to make an audience laugh through his pain and not feel like assholes on the car ride home. Despite dealing with an avalanche of medical problems and personal tragedies, Bronx-born comedian Robert Schimmel still has the edge to deliver one of the nastiest stand ups in the stand up biz. And his fans couldn't be happier. With top rate comedy CDs like "If You Buy This CD I Can Get This Car" (1998) and "Reserection" are just a taste of Schimmel's X-rated live show. He's booked all weekend at the Brea Improv. If stand-up comedy is your thing, Schimmel's set is a must see.
Fri., Sept. 26, 8 & 10 p.m.; Sat., Sept. 27, 7 & 9 p.m.; Sun., Sept. 28, 7 p.m., 2008
