Heatwave!

Spinning nothing but ’60s Motown and Northern soul records sounds like a phenomenal time, doesn’t it? Well, make all that music female-fronted, and this deal just can’t get any sweeter. Heatwave! at the Pike (co-deejayed by the Secret Affair’s Frankie Alvaro) blows the dust off old jewels by Gigi & the Charmaines, Fantaisions, and maybe even a little Eula Cooper or some Marvelettes. These ladies were the epitome of style and soul, so pay them homage—and throw back a cold one while you’re at it.
