Mohr the Merrier

Jay Mohr

By ERIN SMITH

Published on September 04, 2008 at 2:45am

Playing the douchebag sports agent in Jerry McGuire or briefly appearing on SNL as an underutilized performer (an experience he chronicled in his book Gasping for Airtime: Two Years in the Trenches of Saturday Night Live) before leaving the show for greener pursuits (including playing the lead role in the cult-beloved gone-too-soon Fox series Action and hosting Last Comic Standing on NBC), Jay Mohr’s career has taken as many strange turns as you’d expect from the quirky comic. The bridegroom of buxom ginger actress Nikki Cox and impersonator of the stars (Christopher Walken has said Mohr’s impressions of him are his favorite), Mohr is a comedian’s comedian, and his stint at the Brea Improv is sure to elicit the laughter payment he deserves.
