Alters, Offerings, Totems and Tip Jars

God save the saxophonist/mime/hypnotist who doesn't seed his tip jar before taking to the stage. It can be a frustrating night of apathetic walk-bys and poorly funded requests without that little bit of green that differentiates performance from rehearsal. The tip jar, from a weathered fedora to a banged-up instrument case, has not evolved very much in the last five hundred years. So Richard Bohn, one of this show's three featured artists, attempts to take the tip jar beyond brandy snifters and into the realm of sculpture, creating irresistible receptacles for other people's hard earned cash. But bear in mind, no matter how much you tip the art, none of it is going to play you "Moon River."
