Kick In the Asp

Antony & Cleopatra

By Eleanor Carmichael

Published on July 10, 2008 at 2:40am

It's summer and time to enjoy the works of William Shakespeare as they did in the 17th century: in the open air. Shakespeare by the Sea will be performing Antony & Cleopatra at Turtle Rock Park in Irvine for all to enjoy, and while Bill was probably not the type to open up a lawn chair and settle down in the grass with a cool glass of lemonade, he probably wouldn't mind if you do. Enjoy Shakespeare's classic tale of love, betrayal and murder as you watch swords, snakes and centurions in your flip-flops and shades. Bring a picnic dinner and make it a family affair for the best price you can find in Orange County: free. Seating is first come, first served, so get there early and claim your space.
