Just Kidding

Jo Koy

There has been an interesting parallel development in DJ culture and standup comedy in recent years: a growing dominance of Filipino-Americans in both fields. Someone could probably compose an interesting analysis of the phenomenon, but the whys and wherefores are less important than the end product-some killer beats and huge laughs. We're not sure whether Pinoy comedian Jo Koy can beat juggle, but his success onstage is just as noteworthy. Drawing on material concerning his family and his status as a Filipino, Koy's popularity is on the rise due to his crowd-pleasing personality and frequent touring. Still no word on what he thinks of Serato, though.
