Summer Food and Wine Festival

By TOM CHILD

Published on June 12, 2008 at 2:41am

Man cannot live on wine alone (believe me, we've tried), which is a shame because there are enough varieties to keep the palate entertained throughout eternity. No, we need food, too-and lots of it-to keep our bodies running the way they're supposed to. Thankfully, gustatory pleasures can be found in abundance at South Coast Plaza's Summer Food and Wine Festival. Guests can sample cuisine and vino from a number of local restaurants and exotic wineries, and best of all, the entire ticket price benefits the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County and Someone Cares Soup Kitchen in Costa Mesa. And if the food and wine aren't selling you, there will also be a special performance by the Beatles tribute band Imagine. With enough wine, maybe you can "imagine" you're really seeing the Beatles!
