Harptallica

In case the band name doesn't quite give it away, Patricia Kline and Ashley Toman are a duo of hellafied harpists inspired by the head-banging heyday of Metallica. Since their formation in 2006, the band have put their classically trained musical backgrounds to good use in novel displays of angelic shredding that incorporates thrashers such as "Master of Puppets" and such brooding Black Album favorites as "Unforgiven." Harptallica take us back to the years before all the unnecessary haircuts, watered-down riffs and documentaries about the band's group-therapy sessions. Thank God; someone had to do it.
