It’s fairly common knowledge that places with rhyming titles that refer to alcohol are just indisputably awesome, and the booze cruise is the most awesomest such couplet since the bar car. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the term, a booze cruise is a boat filled with people and liquid courage. More often than not, these fun-filled journeys also provide something that stands second to said booze—musical entertainment to make the ride that much more enjoyable. And if, by chance, the genre of said music also rhymes with cruise, well, that just makes it all the more awesome. Long Beach’s Friday Night Dinner and Blues Cruise also adds food: The two-and-a-half-hour boat ride includes a dinner buffet, champagne and a live blues band to serenade diners. Once aboard the vessel, guests can eat all they can handle and tap their toes to the twangs of the blues performer of the week. Golden rule: No puking on the band!
