Ohio Screamin'

Horrors of Toledo

By TOM CHILD

Published on April 25, 2008 at 2:40am

Hailing from Fountain Valley (quite a ways from Ohio), Horrors of Toledo draw from a wide range of musical influences, from Bauhaus' dark goth to the Cramps' kitschy zombie rockabilly to the more modern sounds of bands like Interpol, but they add just enough pop-punk melodicism to keep things from getting depressing. Having already shared stages with the likes of the Pixies' David Lovering and punk legend Mike Watt, the band is well on its way to establishing a place for themselves in the local music pantheon.
