Beautiful Noise: A Benefit for the Family of Mike Conley

By VICKIE CHANG

Published on April 25, 2008 at 2:40am

Almost two months ago, Westside Costa Mesa-and Orange County-lost one of its main players and pioneers in the burgeoning arts and music scene. Mike Conley was the owner of Avalon Bar, frequent popular refuge for DJs and other lovers of sound; lead singer of ‘80s hardcore punk band M.I.A. and-above all-father to three daughters, ages 5 to 18. Join Mike's friends, family and fans for a night of remembrance at the House of Blues with performances by M.I.A., Jello Biafra, Kevin Seconds (of 7 Seconds), a special acoustic set by Social Distortion, and more. Proceeds will help the Conley family. If you can't make it out that night but would still like to make a donation, visit mikeconleyfamilyfund.com.
