Opera Schmopera

Green Eggs & Hamadeus

Thanks to the utter failure of Seussical , it's left to some other brave, courageous and preferably talented soul to set the work of Dr. Seuss to music. Robert Kapilow has stepped up-and succeeded-with his unique program, Green Eggs & Spamadeus , which gives children a fun introduction to opera. The show includes music composed by Kapilow himself, in addition to Mozart's lively Eine Kleine Nachtmusik . Together, paired with some commentary, Kapilow shows both classic music connoisseurs and young ones exposed to Mozart for the very first time that the singsong pages of Dr. Seuss and the prolific works of ol' Wolfgang have more in common than one would think.
