A Little Help?

A Benefit for Alex

By TOM CHILD

Published on April 17, 2008 at 2:40am

The Alex in question is a teenage Ugandan in need of life-saving surgery to repair a hole in his heart. And while attending this show shouldn't count as your "Get Out of Global Responsibility Free" card (c'mon, you're seeing some rock bands, not digging a well with your bare hands to irrigate a vilage), you will be doing something more important with your evening than you normally do (and yes, we do know what you normally do with your evening). Delta Spirit, We Barbarians and some special guests will lend their talents to the cause. That tiny spark of warmth you'll feel in your heart won't be the liquor. It's called a social conscience. Now, go . . . You have a lot more work to do.
