Not too long ago, he was only known as Eddie Murphy's older brother, even though he had appeared in films such as Jungle Fever , Murder Was the Case and Harlem Nights . But thanks to an episode of Comedy Central's Chappelle's Show that contained a certain story involving a certain funk icon and a certain couch and a certain slap to the face, Charlie Murphy has become a breakout star on his own terms. Now the elder Murphy regularly makes appearances at comedy clubs, colleges and casinos nationwide, as well as on talk shows and Comedy Central specials. And don't make us repeat the lines about the couch and face-slapping. You know exactly what we're talking about.
