From the Jam

By Pedrick Helm

Published on January 10, 2008

Band reunions often call into question a certain musician's legacy-or maybe just transform that image of a legendary, charming, 25-year-old rock star etched into your brain into an older, more wrinkled version of that legendary, charming rock star . . . or in some cases, a totally different human being. Jam lead vocalist Paul Weller, however, seems to have found the secret of youth and hasn't appeared to age in 20 years. It's just too bad he 's not performing with the other two-thirds of the Jam in this not-so-much reunion, From the Jam. Despite Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler making up one of the tightest rhythm sections in music history, an absent Modfather will more than likely hamper the mood. But hey, this might be the closest thing you'll ever get to a real Jam reunion, since Weller has publicly stated his disinterest in any type of get-together.
