Miss Teen Newport Beach

By Amanda Parsons

Published on January 10, 2008

It's a two-pageants-in-one-evening extravaganza: This Friday night, the 2008 Miss Newport Beach Teen and Miss Newport Beach will be crowned. So yes, the hair extensions and bleach will be abundant-as will the question-and-answer sessions, where we'll all surely learn the secret to obtaining world peace. There's no talent competition at these pageants, but good news: Swimsuits will be worn. The ladies will also be judged based on an interview session, their onstage presence and the evening-gown competition. A panel of celebrity judges, consisting of reality-TV stars and a local plastic surgeon (we hear he'll be handing out business cards after the show), will be on hand to crown the winners-with an actual crown, not veneers . . . although we're sure some of the ladies have those, too.
