The Night Marchers

By RYAN RITCHIE

Published on January 10, 2008

Although no one's really heard them yet, it's fairly safe to say the Night Marchers are awesome-how can they not be with John Reis at the helm? The former Rocket From the Crypt/Hot Snakes/Sultans/Drive Like Jehu member is so spot-on in his musical outpouring he makes even the New England Pa . . . er, make that the 1972 Miami Dolphins look flawed. His new act-which also includes former Hot Snakes members Gar Wood and Jason Kourkounis and CPC Gangbangs' Tommy Kitsos-supposedly takes from each of his previous groups and blends them together, the end result being the ultimate aural serenade for his fans. If talent equaled success, San Diego's favorite son would be Donald Trump, Bill Gates and Oprah Winfrey rolled into one. The Night Marchers have a record slated for release March 25 on the singer/guitarist's Swami Records, but don't wait that long because Reis' onstage showmanship is hands-down the most energetic and entertaining spectacle going today.
