Photo Pass

By RYAN RITCHIE

Published on January 10, 2008

None of the photographers participating in the "Photo Pass" exhibit are household names, but their subjects sure are. Current and defunct groups such as Nirvana, Rancid, Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins, My Chemical Romance and Taking Back Sunday are a few of the acts on display in a mix of published and never-before-seen live shots, publicity photos, and magazine shoots by artists such as Dave Hill, Lisa Johnson, Kevin Knight, Tim Harmon, Pamela Littky, LeAnn Mueller, Bryan Sheffield and Neil Visel. Hill is known for a style that evokes paintings and has frequented the cover of Alternative Press along with the cover of the January 2008 edition of Forbes , while Johnson-a 20-year veteran-recently had her work shown at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the museum's Warped Tour exhibit. Knight's photographs of live shows by Incubus, Glassjaw and the Rocket Summer are also on display.
