And those people really dig it when the ladies know how to shake and jiggle that fat to music. Finger-cymbal music, preferably. Belly-dancing is penetrating the American culture, allowing Middle Eastern traditions into our highly sexualized dance scene. So rather than sticking to the traditional basic steps of circular motions isolated in one part of the body, belly dancers are beginning to expand their routines to include hip-hop and salsa movements, creating cultural fusion right before your eyes.
