Men Alive presents 'Vegas Gold!'

By VICKIE CHANG

Published on January 10, 2008

We've got one of the most lucrative malls in the country, an accolade-rich university, great beaches and Disneyland. So you say the only thing Orange County is missing is an all-gay, all-male chorus? Contain yourselves: Men Alive are the Orange County Gay Men's Chorus. The group consists of 100 singers and volunteers who've been spreading their repertoire of classical, jazz, gospel, traditional, contemporary and pop music across the county since 2001. In addition to bestowing entertainment, joy and the arts on the public, they also aim to build bridges to the world at large. And now Men Alive are continuing their season-long tour of the United States by bringing the very best of Sin City to the Barclay. You'll hear everything from Tony Bennett and Liberace to Celine Dion and-yes, of course-Tom Jones. Men Alive present Vegas Gold! at the Barclay Theatre, 4199 Campus Dr., Irvine, (949)
Fri., March 7, 8 p.m.; Sat., March 8, 3 & 8 p.m., 2008
