Tango Fire

Tango originated in the late 19th century in the red-light district of Buenos Aires, developed by poor European immigrants who would literally dance it in the streets. In tango, the upper body must remain either in close or open embrace, while the lower half of the body moves at an exceedingly difficult speed. It requires acrobatic precision, strength and focus. You want a workout? Learn tango. It is an incredibly beautiful thing to witness, a true wonder to behold, given the technical physical prowess required. To see a dance company such as the Estampas Porteñas perform this centuries-old, immensely passionate dance will be a joyful celebration of music and the abilities of the human body at its best.
