REO Speedwagon

By NICK SCHOU

Published on January 10, 2008

Back in the day, REO Speedwagon could fill an entire stadium with lighter-waving, mullet-haired fans. That was a couple of decades ago, and the band's last hurrah was a 2003 tour with Journey and Styx. Lately, they've been relegated to the county-fair circuit. So unless you like your cheesy power ballads-"Can't Fight This Feeling," "Keep on Loving You" and "Time for Me to Fly," anyone?-served up with a side of deep-fried Snickers and the scent of stale hay, this concert at the Grove is your lucky ticket to soft-rockin' nostalgia. The concert also features a special performance by Shane Alexander.
