Newland House Tour

Walking around strangers’ homes when they aren’t around is one of life’s greatest pleasures. Rifling through their drawers, trying on their shoes and eating their food . . . it’s like a little slice of heaven here on Earth. Unfortunately, as I recently learned, this kind of quiet celebration is illegal. Apparently, most home owners don’t take too kindly to it. Who knew? Anyway, thanks to the lovely folks at the Newland House Museum, you can pay to walk around a restored Victorian farmhouse while it is all dressed up in holiday décor! Sure, no one “lives” in the house anymore. But you can pretend. The imagination is a very powerful instrument.
