Only corny fucks celebrate Christmas traditionally. True heads will be checking loquacious LA MC Murs and tonight's other smooth mic operators on this played-out holiday. (We welcome your hate mail!) Murs reps indie-rap juggernaut Definitive Jux and, for his collabs with producer 9th Wonder, Warner Bros., which is releasing Murs for President next year. He boasts on his new single that he's "Better Than the Best," and while Murs hasn't earned such hubris yet, he does elevate the game with cleverly phrased braggadocio and detailed storytelling while riding some vividly punchy productions into your memory banks.
