The Glory of Christmas

By TOM CHILD

Published on December 06, 2007

Is it just us, or has Christmas become pretty understated these past few years? Walk outside, and there's barely any sign of the holiday. Sure, everyone's put up their lights and given gifts and sang carols, but where are the camels and water buffalo wandering about? Where are the brilliantly costumed angels swooping down from the rafters to bestow glory upon humanity? Where are the life-sized mangers and actors dressed as Magi? Oh, yeah . . . at the Crystal Cathedral, which has hosted the sensory overload that is The Glory of Christmas every year since 1981. Even if you don't accept Jesus Christ as your savior, almost anyone can find something to appreciate about a spectacle this grandiose.
