'Shag: The World, the Flesh & the Devil'
We realize there's a Shag exhibit going on at the Laguna Art Museum and all (see Greg Stacy's "Wall-to-Wall Shag" in the Culture section this week), but we wouldn't really be doing our jobs (or something) if we let all you ridiculous amounts of Josh Agle (a.k.a. Shag) fans go without knowing that Pure Color art gallery in Laguna Beach is showcasing a unique seven-year retrospective of Agle's works, titled "Shag: The World, the Flesh & the Devil."
In a rare solo exhibition of Shag's precious prints, Pure Color is displaying artist proofs of sold-out editions that are actually available for sale. You don't even have to know the artist to recognize his works: bright, vivid, slick illustrations depicting everything from a swinging LA cocktail party at the Stahl House (with the Capitol Records building looming not too far away) to—yup—tikis and hula chicks.

The Rocky Horror Show
All right, everybody, time warp back to the 1970s: The year was 1975, when Tim Curry and his crew of Transylvanian oddballs made themselves an irreplaceable part of cult-movie culture. Since then, the movie has made its mark on newer generations of "virgins" through midnight showings, especially during the Halloween season.
This time around, Maverick Theater bringsThe Rocky Horror Showto the live stage—the way it originally debuted back in 1973 to London audiences. The show opened on Oct. 12, and the season's final performance is fast approaching. Friday and Saturday are your last chances to sing along to those songs you've been warbling since high school and experience those familiar barely there costumes and deliciously awkward sexual scenes that earned Curry a permanent spot in cinema history.
And guys, this may be your last chance to get some public, excuse-free use out of your girlfriend's corset and panties before the New Year.

South Coast Plaza Demonstration
For nearly four years, the Orange County Peace & Justice protest has been happening outside the county's gaudiest monument to consumerism, South Coast Plaza.
No, they aren't protesting fur coats or sweatshop labor: They are protesting this dang-blasted war! Well, that and a couple of other things. Like the U.S. colonial occupation not only of Iraq, but also Afghanistan, Haiti and other countries in the Third World; the Palestinian people's lack of rights; U.S. threats against Venezuela, Cuba, Iran and North Korea; military atrocities in Cuba and Afghanistan; the lack of aid for the homeless; and the general absence of immigrants' rights.
Oh, and the parking situation at South Coast Plaza. That sucks, too.
