International Motorcycle Show

Before we go any further, let's just have a moment of silence for the great one: Evel Knievel. The man who brought new heights of showmanship to motorcycling daredevilry passed away last Friday, a departure that is sure to put some of the attendees of the Cycle World International Motorcycle Show at the Long Beach Convention Center in a contemplative mood. The show will feature hundreds of '08 models of street bikes, dirt bikes, cruisers, ATVs and concept bikes along with customs and vintage cycles for gearheads to salivate over. Perhaps most exciting is the display of the world's fastest motorcycle, the BUB Streamliner Seven, which, with the expert driving of Chris Carr, reached an average speed of 354.832 mph in 2006. Too bad Knievel isn't still around to try to jump that baby over Snake River Canyon.
Fri., Dec. 7, 4 p.m.; Dec. 8-9, 9:30 a.m., 2007
