Gay rumors?! Married?!

I don't care what you say: Michael Ian Black is adorable. (Oh, and very funny. I suppose that's important, too.)

I've loved him since he voiced that wristwatch-wearing sock puppet for the ill-fated Pets.com. I loved his gay-sex shed scene in Wet Hot American Summer (uh, not that I'm into that sort of thing . . . I mean . . . ); his snarky, dry premeditated banter on the 8,000 different VH1 countdown shows (when does I Love the Early '00scome out? Too soon?); and his online column for McSweeney's, "Michael Ian Black is a Very Famous Celebrity." Hell, I even loved him in the short-lived (and also ill-fated and not-that-popular—the world wasn't ready) Marx Brothers-esque Comedy Central show Stella that grew out of Black's comedy troupe of the same name, featuring Michael Showalter and David Wain.

An actor, comedian and writer, Black's made a name for himself by creating offbeat characters you can't help but love—Johnny Blue Jeans (Viva Variety), Phil Stubbs (Ed)—and will appear in two films next year, Reno 911: Miami! and the Wain-written and -produced The Ten (which IMDB says stars everyone from Amanda Peet and Adam Brody to Winona Ryder and Ben Garant as "naked dude on the porch"). And now you can watch Black and Showalter do their standup-comedy thing at the House of Blues—a rare treat, considering Stella hasn't made a stop on the West Coast since, like, forever.
