Halloween On Halloween

Halloween

Want to see a serial killer murder people in a tweaked-out William Shatner mask? Want to see Jamie Lee Curtis in her breakout role as a teary-eyed baby sitter? Want to see teens having premarital sex, then being maimed? Well, what better time than during the spookiest season of the year to revive the original Halloween up on the big screen . . . because, honestly, what else are you going to do for Halloween on a Tuesday night? This is the best time to be had without fighting the next-morning hangover while still wearing costume paint that won't quite wash off. Hell, if you feel adventurous and want to fight a hangover in the morning, you could always tailgate before the movie (if you can avoid the pesky mall security). What better way of showing up your friends on how wasted you were the night before than by saying proudly, "I got shitfaced in the parking lot of Regal Cinemas"? You'll be the hero of the office. See Michael Myers (not the Austin Powers actor) in the debut film that spawned a franchise with more than 10 films—and another apparently on the way next year with Rob Zombie in the director's chair. Like The Nightmare on Elm Street screening that took place a couple of weeks back, prepurchasing your tickets is a big recommendation, for it will sell out.

Watch Halloween on the big screen at these theaters: Edwards Aliso Viejo, 26701 Aliso Creek Rd.; Edwards "Big One" Megaplex, Spectrum, 65 Fortune Dr., Irvine; Regal Foothill Towne Center, 26602 Towne Center Dr., Foothill Ranch; Regal La Habra, 1351 W. Imperial Hwy.; and Edwards Long Beach, 7501 Carson Blvd.; www.bigscreenboxoffice.com. Mon.-Tues., 8 p.m. $10.
