SOUTHERN DUDE

I just had a chance to read R. Scott Moxley's Press Clip's column "Campus Radicals: The Republican Campaign to Dominate Universities Comes to Fullerton" [May 9]. Your characterization of David Horowitz's fanciful screed about Vanderbilt University was right on target. Thanks, however, to the eternal nature of the media, his original (and laughable) columns continue to come back to us in the form of e-mail rants from far and wide. Thanks for shedding some light on this ridiculous and selfish crusade.

Hey, Commie Girl: Your views on Jumbo Size are perfect ["It's a Wonderful Week," May 9]. Were you just bummed because we didn't sound like Wonderlove or Twelve Hour Mary? I do commend you on actually going to a somewhat punk show, even though you wouldn't know a punk show if it bit you in the face. Strangely, I'm glad you shot our band down because, as you know, you are not why we play music. If you would have said you liked us, that would be harder to swallow.
