Get Up and Go!

The Rattlesnakes' debut full-length release—I, Explosion!—erupts with rock & roll fury, get-your-dancin'-shoes groove, and soulful shimmy and shake—they're liquid hot magma bursting from the core of, uh, Corona, California (?), and destroying everything in their path. Yes, I realize it's tough for Rolling Stone-reading America to digest more than four "The . . ." rock bands at a time, but the masses may want to make room in their tummies for the over-the-top sneer and swagger of the Rattlesnakes. To describe them as high-energy just wouldn't do 'em justice. The feeling is more like a pack of Pop Rocks with a Jolt chaser; the sound rampaging through your speakers is an adrenalized explosion of raspy vocals, thunderous drum beats and monster guitar licks. Sure, I couldn't tell you half of what Nathan is singing—and nothing at all about what the songs are about—but this much makes sense: "Get up and go right now! Get up and go get down! Feel the rhythm and move, move, move!" That's all you need to know. That's all you need to do.
