I was the redhead in black, and I have a confession to make to you: I saw you first at the Ben Kweller show, then at the Hey Mercedes, Sensefield/Benefit for Leilani and Smile shows—all . . . amazing. Couldn't help but notice your argyle socks and the things you do each night to make this venue hum. I was usually stage left and in the back, where the sound is sweetest, watching the load-in/load-out of each band, the vibe, the professionalism. . . . It seems a band's best friend would be the stage and sound engineer. You were taking care of business. I didn't want to interrupt such a busy man. I looked for chances to just catch your eye instead. Yes, girls make passes at guys who wear glasses. Would you like to get a cup of coffee sometime?
