Then: Lit was called Stain, and they played quite frequently at Club 369. Now: Lit is called Lit, and they played quite recently at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. Then: Irvine Meadows Amphitheater was called Irvine Meadows Amphitheater. Now: Irvine Meadows Amphitheater is called Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, but people still call it Irvine Meadows Amphitheater. Then: Koo's Art Cafe was one of the few venues to consistently put on all-ages shows. Now: Koo's, Chain Reaction, the Hub, and the Back Alley consistently put on all-ages shows. Then: Ska was supposed to be the Next Big Thing, though many people wished it dead. Now: Ska's still around, though many have proclaimed it dead. Then: Eric Stefani had just quit No Doubt to pursue his career as an animator. Now: Eric Stefani just sat in—for the first time in five years—with No Doubt. OC officials didn't want what they feared came with the show; the show was moved to the South Bay, hence Board in OC and Board in South Bay were both held in the South Bay. Now: Warped Tour was held a few months ago at the Arrowhead Pond—in the parking lot. Then: There was no Hootenanny. Now: There is. Then: There was no This Ain't No Picnic. Now: There is. Then: There was Lollapalooza. Now: There isn't. Then: Save Ferris bass player Bill Uechi wore that bear hat. Now: He doesn't. Then: Tazy Phillips was doing The Ska Parade. Now: Tazy Phillips is doing The Ska Parade. Then: Dr. Dream Records was a local label with a ton of punk bands on their roster, such as the Cadillac Tramps and Manic Hispanic. Now: There is no Dr. Dream Records. Then: Linda's Doll Hut booked one pop night per week and the rest were punk. Now: Linda's Doll Hut books one night of punk per week and the rest are pop.
