Comics and newspaper columnists have mined yuks from Leisure World's rabbit problem. Exterminators stand ready to blast bunnies that have overrun the Seal Beach retirement community back to kingdom come. Animal-rights activists are crying "Fowl!" (actually, "Lagomorph!").

Meanwhile, Orange County remains divided on whether permanently thumping Thumper is the Final Solution.

As usual, we're here to help. Oh, we could trivialize this emotional debate with phony copy, exaggerations and unfair juxtapositions. But that would be wrong, oh so wrong. Instead, we're taking a serious look at the matter. What follows is the history, confusion, animation, annihilation and wanton rabbit sex surrounding this important topic.

In the end, we may not change your stand on bunnycide. But perhaps we will have made you think.
