His Name Is Alive

The rise of the new Christian hardcore

"We give our lead singer free rein to say what he wants, but we don't go out of our way to witness at shows," Fitzhugh says in his easy, unhurried drawl. "We know people didn't pay 8 bucks to hear us preach. They came to hear music."

He is quick to add, however, that if others initiate the dialogue, the band members are not shy about sharing their beliefs. "We don't want to beat people over the head, but we do like to point out that a life with God is so much better than one without him."
