Dedicating Chapman's Commie Girl Pencil Sharpener and Hole Punch

By about 9:30 p.m., Dena and I had had enough, so we scooted over to Linda's Doll Hut for the best bill we've seen in some time. Loogie's punk-rock-girl shrieker sang lots of songs about food, from feeding you a knuckle sandwich to bringing home the bacon to something about cake. We dug 'em! Phatter Than Albert were an awesome Las Vegas band whose very Red Hot Chili Peppers-y funk-rap was tight and funny. We like white-boy rap, no matter what The Offspring says! And Burnin Groove were in better form than we've ever seen them: loud and fast but more than a little melodic. Their closing cover of "Time Warp" had everyone pelvic thrusting, or maybe it was just us (drummer Steve Lynch does a mean Columbia). But for the life of us, we couldn't figure out why there were so many more women at the Doll Hut than usual. We just don't get it!

Don't get it with Commie Girl at CommieGirl99@hotmail.com.
